vive la Bretagne …

 CIMG0944 bretag

Here  comes a little selection of our late expedition, in the  gorgeous region of Bretagne. We made this long trip ( over 10 h-  drive  -car) for different reasons, but mostly to assist our very good friend Seb gendarmerie baptism ceremony . This very official ceremony ponctuates a 10 month – training . That really was an event we wanted to share and to witness …
It was well orchestrated.  The first part was an  early morning blessing and baptism mass in the most lovely little church ever : Pleyben. It was celebrate in French &  in Breton, brightened up by latinic “inclusion” and a lovely  african version of  Notre Père (Lord's Prayer).

Then we had an exquisite lunch in a typical crêperie . I opted for a goat cheese, slow roasted  tomatoes and honey crêpe, along with  a fresh glass of mild cider. Jp ordered a forestiere buckwheat galette (pictures underneath) .

We then attended the  official (and non official) photo session …

And then assisted to the very formal, and traditional military ceremony with hundreds of other people.  We were lucky enough to have an agreeable weather, which is quite a luxury in Bretagne … especially at this period of the year …

the next step was the autoritatives  interventions and speeches  … the vin d’honneur ( the cocktail) and finally the reception …. That was really an emotional day and something we feel lucky  we have the opportunity to experiment …

Baptisms are so very special and emotional to attend. I know the parents were very happy and felt blessed to have friends and family attending. Makes for some great memories!
