it’s all about cliches

P1360911

As promised yesterday, here is the photos shoot session dedicated to EURO WEEK.
The idea for this post came to me while reading this storque Article . Matt suggested “Need fashion help? Wear a stripey French shirt.”
I said to myself “ mmm , there is something funny to play with there”. I planned to write European and French related blog post and this would be the perfect illustration.
First I needed to get the essential accessory : the sailor inspired tee shirt …which turned out to mission impossible. I know. Unbelievable.

I then had to shift to plan B … why not make fun around some clichés people around the world may have about France.
I finally opted for outfit and accessories (I have in my closet and in my shops) in bleu, blanc rouge (blue white red) to remind our flag colors.

First let’s take a béret… It comes from French dialectal berret and from Old Provençal berret, meaning cap.

As you may know it is a soft round cap, usually of wool felt, with a flat crown. It is worn by both men and women and usually associated with France although it is also the traditional headgear of Northern Spain. and it was also common in other surrounding countries.

As far as I am concerning I have never seen both my grand fathers going out without their béret.

Now the baguette … ok … this might not be such a cliché, as every single day I am going to the Boulangerie to buy my fresh baguette. I am lucky enough to have a lovely old fashioned one not very far from home and I often walk there. I sometimes pot for a baguette, a flûte or a fougasse which definitely is my favorite.

P1360921And of course what would be this blog post if I don’t mention the wine … I have opted for a rosé. a sweet one we like to have for appetizer… perfect for spring season.
But well… it is not even 11.00 am here..am I supposed to drink wine at this time of the day ??

how that you think should keep it for later ….

and yes I do have a creamy white Beret too. They both are so cute, made of the softest wool ever…

Ha! What a great post! And I am so jealous about having a great source for baguettes so close to you. That is one of my big pregnancy cravings.
