{an answer and a sacred mission }

guess wjat it is

Saturday I posted a snapshot about one of my last WIP … . Notre adorable Kristie from pixel wild child got the right answer … very very good intuition Kristie !!! … :

P1150945 copie

the story behind the hat : A few weeks ago, a good friend of mine , has entrusted me with a sacred mission. Oui oui, an all-important mission : finding her the perfect hat to match her dress, for her daughter’s baptism. Knowing her for a long time I knew exactly what she needed : something with style, but not too ceremonial … a hat she would wear to proudly honor her daughter’s first big ceremony, and in the same time a not too formal chapeau she will easily find occasions to wear …She did not want to invest in a hat she will put in a closet and forget about.

We finally came to an agreement quite quickly …which is often the case when you feel a person‘s expectations .. And yes, knowing well the person makes it A LOT easier …

She will be wearing a grey and ivory dress. a very beautiful dress … but it needed some petites touches of colors to give this tenue the perfect tone for this joyful day …

It has been such a hit, I decided to make one for my etsy shop ….as you can see below. It is lightly different from the original version as Eliette’s mother wanted her hat to be a unique piece
I am a huge fan of hat …1. by necessity and 2. because I love wearing them …but , once again this is another story

here comes the now-familiar item photoshooting :

P1150881 P1150872 P1150936 P1150990 P1150995

the embellishments are made of fabric handpainting , handcut and sewn felt and colorful beads …

You can find this embellished hat here ....

and by the way … I am currently making one for myself :)

Beautiful! I especially love the patterned hat with a solid grey dress. I love grey. To answer your question about Switzerland...my husband Bryan believes there are lots of beautiful blondes, cows, and St. Bernards. Thanks for stopping by!

The hat is so beautiful, as is it's model! I was waiting to see what close up was!
So this weekend I went back to Toronto to see my parents (about five hours away from Montreal) and the whole backyard had been taken over by those lily of the valley bell shapped flowers you were talking about a month ago! I was so excited and told everyone about your post and pictures of the flowers. I haven't seen them in years.

... I'm sorry, did you say you MADE this hat?

Why don't I wear hats more often? Well, I do have this silly straw one I wear to keep the sun off my face in summer...

I might need to invest in a "One of a Kind" too!!!

Any Suggestions, La Marquise des Anges?
