A Russian Poem is a touching portraits & landscapes série by Lisa Sarfati, published in the very inspirational The Morning News.
Lise Sarfati is a French photographer working for Magnum who has spent most of her career in Paris, with project stints in Russia and the United States. Her most recent body of work (and the one that might be familiar to most New York collectors) is called The New Life, a series of portraits of American teenagers from across the country, full of the sullen, anxious and solitary emotions of adolescence.
This shows (a russian poem) goes back a step to a series of images Sarfati made in the 1990s in post-Soviet Russia.

What inspired the series?
It is a series that connects houses in the countryside from the beginning of the 20th century with portraits of young people, mostly boys, whom I met in Moscow. There is no obvious connection between the photographs. It is not really a narrative story; it is more a story constructed by elements.

I LOVE this. So different and beautiful.
Very unusual and peaceful photos. Photographs like that really tell a story. You find the most interesting things to share dear Sadine. I hope you are having a wonderful evening over there.
Oh by the way, I messed things up on twitter the other day when I confused you about the animal link. Thought it was your link but it was one of your followers that had posted it. All this stuff is so new and kind of confusing to me:-)
I love all barns. In all levels of dilapidation.
Thanks for voting. Sorry you did not have time to enter the contest, BUT as I said, you may submit any type of board ANY time and I will post it "tout suite!"
(My French is awful, did I spell that right? How about "Immediately!")

I'm definitely checking out 'The New Life'! I miss teenage emotions. Everything that wasn't important was so important...this is why I'm scared to have children!
