{ hidden secret part 1 }

First of all the plum tart was delicious  !!!  It’s not today’s subject but I couldn’t resist sharing a little photo with you … I will “come back” with a recipe pretty soon .

Now it is about time for a massive photo attack from our  most recent adventure … This little escape in the delightful countryside of Aude is  particularly dedicated to my sweet friend and etsy fellow indiepreneur Julia … every steps I walked, I felt like I was holding your hand ... and Julia, if your toes and feet are hurting for some sudden and unexplained reason, you now have the explanation as we have been  traveling up hill and down dale all day long :)

This mysterious destination is … Rennes le chateau … a charming hilltop village of southwestern France, the nerve center of  innumerable conspiracy theories,  related to the visigoths,  the idea of Templars and Cathars , Marie Madeleine and hidden secrets. Thousands of people climb to the isolated village of Rennes-le-Chateau each year, following the publication of books such as Holy Blood, Holy Grail and, later, The Da Vinci Code ….  drawn by the mystery surrounding the priest Berenger Sauniere and his unexplained riches.

  The Wikipedia article on the village gives a fairly good summary of its history and the growth of its pseudo-or-not myth.

If you ever find yourself in the neighborhood, you should absolutely make the detour…

The site is not only gorgeous and magical but also surrounding with a strong hard-to-define aura. And the view is just breathtaking.  As there is a lot to be seen and  a lot I want to share with you, I divided this little virtual trip in different sections.  Ok, put your best walking shoes on, take your sunglasses, a  (preferably funny or cute  )  hat, a bottle of water …and let’s go for partie 1, just imagine you are arriving on the site, after a car ride in the country, quite a few bends in road to reach the village …you get off your car and discover the magnifique view , and the surrounding area of the village .
