a neuvaine and a salad …

Today, we will be celebrating  my father’s neuvaine . Friends and family, we will all praying for him … It is taking place in a lovely church in a little village he really liked … I don’t know if you are familiar with this tradition or not … it is quite important for us, not as important as the funerals ceremony  but it has its own importance in the  mourning  process

Then we will all eat together , hopefully outdoor …  I made pasta salad for the occasion … basically everything comes from my garden ( yep … I do grow pasta in my garden ) : cherry tomatoes, cucumber, basil, parsley, chives … I added some raisins and a balsamic vinegar dressing …. very fresh and flavorful.

I still have to make my now famous (well famous HERE) Greek pasta salad with olives and feta.   The best part is the dressing, which is a combination of green onions, basil, vinegar and parmesan cheese, all turned into a thick liquid in the food processor. Concocted with  black olives, crunchy red peppers, chunks of feta and juicy tomato …Need i to say more ?

I do not forget about the pictures of our little ocean trip … here is a quick preview , as the weather was turning very … stormy  and very …ethereal … It was just before we left …. a few seconds later I was “attacked” by some nasty and malicious hailstones …

I wish you a wonderful Sunday …. you know what I am doing ..; what will you be doing ??

You'll be in my thoughts today while your family remembers your father. I'm finally going to get my hair colored (I know I said last weekend, but stuff came up).

I love that photo on the beach. I actually love the beach when it is stormy -- one of my favorite times. I wish you a peaceful day.

I'm hoping your day is filled with comforting memories of your papa.

The salad looks amazing - thank you for sharing.

I'm making fresh blackberry scones (the first yummy blackberries of the season!).

Hope you had a blessed day, Sabine. What is the translation of 'neuvaine'? The salad looks scrumptious, but the shore looks even better. I love sand and sea!
