working hard is overrated

"Much more important than working hard is knowing how to find the right thing to work on. Paying attention to what is going on in the world. Seeing patterns. Seeing things as they are rather than how you want them to be. Being able to read what people want. Putting yourself in the right place where information is flowing freely and interesting new juxtapositions can be seen. But you can save yourself a lot of time by working on the right thing. Working hard, even, if that’s what you like to do."

so true! working hard on the wrong thing is simply spinning your wheels (i've done that way too many times!) nice reminder.

Working hard on the wrong thing can be so frustrating! I've been working ridiculously hard the past few weeks and am so behind in everything else...

Loved this post!

Wonderful post (and blog) and I couldn't agree more. So often I find myself in a frenzy trying to do too much at one time and accomplishing nothing, when I really should just be focused on one important and worthwhile task. Great meditation before the weekend!
