ETSY European Week

 

It is Euro week at Etsy. OUI !! To celebrate this event (in a funny way) I made a little dedicated photo shoot, playing with some clichés about France and I have had lots of fun. I will post the whole serie tomorrow. This is just a little preview as I have some work to be finished first .

My name is Sabine ... nice to meet you ....

It has been a long time ….... Since I have not shared with you a few of my new etsy creations … I did not personally realize it … My husband JP judiciously noticed it . I am fixing that right now ... I started working on those pieces weeks back ... I love them, especially the cap. I am in a white + gray mood ... I think those 2 colors really pair beautifully ...

And yes ... you can see my face .... it is really too hard to shoot oneself wearing a hat, not showing one's visage !!! whereas I am quite happy with the following cliché , I feel like I spent too much energy trying to show infinite inventiveness ... I gave up and decided to officially come out of the closet and to physically introduce myself .

I really like this slate - gray tee. The first one I made was actually for me ... I wanted it simple .

{ saturday }

The week has been pretty busy, both personally and businessly speaking … But it was a good one, and I am quite happy with it … I managed to update my little shop with brand new items, I am proud of … I have a few little new products I will probably had in the next days too …

and a merci to Nicole of Lillyella for featuring my jolie perle tee shirt in her last style swap @ Paper n stitch ...

1. argent reconstructed and upcycled layered flower brooch.

2. embellished and “patiné” heart ornament … 2 sizes available. One with a “amitiés” inscription (meaning friendship) , and one with the word “chance”, meaning luck.

3. a brand new tee shirt, I have had some much fun embellishing it . The shirt is of a high quality and I really like its shape … it is so comfortable to wear… I opted for a simple flowery design …

{ new photoshooting & a promise }

 

I am currently working on some new items …wait a minute … I am actually always working on new products  for my etsy shop :) … This new embellished tee is named turquoise . I had lots of fun creating it.

As always I needed to take some pictures …I made plenty, as usual …In order to have a large range to choose in. One day I will write about “auto-photo shooting” … I am following a very special routine. you would be there , you would think I am sort of crazy …  I did have fun but nothing  compare to the hilarious session I had with my husband JP….
The first snapshots are …let’s see … regular … scroll down a little to see a few  less serious ones. I wanted them to look “crazier” … well, next time.

{ May monthly goals }

The artisan adventure continues and I am so happy with it !!! I am looking forward to working on new products, and seeing things continue to grow & to evolve …

let's remember last month's goals...

1. work on my facebook page , looks too deserted…Done..my facebook community shyly by surely grows …

2. add my etsy mini to facebook. done. a lot easier than I thougt :)

3. Retake product shots for some products . Done … for many of them … You probably don't see the difference but I do ! Besides I worked hard to find a better way to display my tee shirts in their general aspect and with closer details… not very easy when you only have a very little thumbnail to compel people to look further…

   

4. design, finalize and print business cards . Done and NOT done…as I made different versions but I am not totally happy with them for the moment …

5. Add a minimum of 3 to 4 new items/ a week to the shop. Done.at least for April.
   

6. Organize and file the documents / tips I gather in a binder. done

7. redesign my Twitter background according to my avatar, etsy banner and blog banner . Done too.
   
   

so now on to my list for may :

1. Working on made on order demands & custom orders
2. organize a shipping place in my worshop
3. business cards again.
4. make lists for the blogs and sites I’ve been featured in.
   

I hope i can make some really good progress on this. wish me luck!

This week has been quite rewarding for me and my etsy Shop … Did I say quite, I should say very … There is no words available to express how I feel … seeing my saperlipopette apron featured on { at home with Kim Vallée } was the apothéose, as kim 's site is one of my very favorite for a long time …
I put so much of myself in this artisan adventure … The past days have been  hectic …And I still have a lot to do but I feel so happy …yes I am a happy girl. Happy happy Girl.

In order to be able to achieve my (long) list of today’s  goals, I start the day by an early morning dog walk… I just love early mornings, especially when the sun is so bright … There is nothing better than drawing strength from the Nature …  I can feel my mind “floating” in the air while Hiro is chasing bumble bee like crazy …I’ve taken some photos …It is a few kilometers from my home. A very nice and quiet place, especially in sunday mornings …Than I stopped at la Boulangerie to get myself a fresh croissant, and a chocolatine au beurre for Monsieur le Marquis … Very  refreshing. Besides I needed to eliminate yesterday confit de canard & vin de cerise .  A friend of us were celebrating  his birthday …

 

Have a great sunday … I’ll work on some custom orders and then get everything reading  … remember sunday is friends day :)

As I said previously Etsy day was a great human experience for me …Thanks again susan aka Schugirl. You’re great. I believe in collective stimulation and fraternity …. and why, why should we stop there ? That how #etsythursday was born … Basically the principle is based on the followfriday (on twitter) trend. Just a different weekday...Make sure to add the hashtag #etsythursday and spread some etsy love : tweet the name of etsy twitter users you strongly recommand...

{ etsy day feeback and tons of pictures }

 
  As “promised” in the previous post … here are a few pictures of  yesterday Etsy Day 2009.  I had lots of fun … Basically the  purpose of all this (at least to me) was to catch people attention about alternative way of consumption …  and catching people’s attention is not  “spamming” them . All I intended to do was to “gently” make people want to ask me questions  …
Signs, flowers and funny initiatives really made people curious and they were very eager to know more : mission accomplished …

I 've seen a few posts and forum thread wondering about the positive (selling speaking) consequences of etsy day ... to me  etsy day was a way to promote the whole concept of artisan work ... to spread the world about our supporting community ...  I had a lot of fun and it gives me the occasion to be in contact with wonderful people. I have so much more contacts ... this was a pretty nice HUMAN EXPERIENCE !!!!!!!!!

       
I do have very patient and adorable companions … always ready to follow me in my crazyness …  

Those last 2  are my very favorite ones :)
